Situational Awareness
This classroom presentation teaches attendees how to be aware of your surroundings, plan for contingencies, and avoid tunnel vision. Participants also learn how to plan, identify, mitigate, and remove yourself from potentially dangerous situations before they occur. Finally, the course discusses how to identify and deal with different types of potentially dangerous situations, and how to identify certain types of common criminal behavior.
De-escalation
Participants learn about different types of difficult or hostile individuals as well as methods of observation and physical positioning. Attendees also learn multiple theories, techniques, and phrases used to effectively de-escalate verbal confrontations. Organizations also can add the option of short role-playing scenarios that replicate typical difficult customer situations. This course can be taught as a stand-alone class or as a follow-up to the Situational Awareness presentation.
Bullying and Harassment
In this class participants learn the definitions of bullying and harassment, as well as how to identify different types of these concerning behaviors. Participants are provided statistics on bullying/harassment, and various laws and regulations that apply to these incidents. Finally, attendees learn options and techniques to deal with the different types of bullying and harassment, as well as how to report these incidents. This class is usually taught as a follow-up to the De-escalation course.
Personal Defense
In this class participants learn many different tactics and techniques to avoid, mitigate, and defense against potentially violent situations. First, attendees are taught proper body posture, demeanor, and awareness, as well as how to stand and walk to deter potential attackers. Secondly, participants learn basic and effective self-defense techniques to create windows to escape a violent encounter. Finally, attendees learn about the many different types of nonlethal personal defense weapons and even get to practice with a few of the devices. It is important to note this class is an introduction to the many different aspects of personal defense, and is not a substitute for regular training at a reputable martial arts school or self-defense training center.
Terrorism/Travel Safety
In this classroom presentation, attendees learn about the warning signs and indicators of potential terrorists and terrorist attacks. Attendees also learn effective techniques and tips for domestic and international travel.
Illegal Drugs Situational Awareness
In this classroom presentation, attendees will learn how to identify indicators of the manufacturing, distribution, and/or presence of certain types of illegal drugs. Attendees will also learn how to identify individuals potentially involved in or under the influence of illegal drugs.
